Mitsubishi Introduces The Elevance Concept, Which Provides A Glimpse Into The Next Outlander Family SUV

SAUDI ARABIA: Mitsubishi unveiled the Elevance concept at the 2025 Tokyo Motor Show. It was stated that the Elevance concept will shape the styling and technology of the next generation of Mitsubishi Outlander SUVs. When asked about the Elevance Concept, the General Manager of Product Planning and Product Strategy, Minoru Uehara, said, “The Elevance is just a concept, but some element or essence of this vehicle can be linked to a future product. Styling direction or technical features, we are still investigating and developing, so some features and elements can be moved to the actual world in the future.”

Even though very little has been confirmed about the Mitsubishi Elevance concept as of yet, there are no details on the powertrain or whether it will be an EV in the future or not. What’s known is that the Elevance concept was showcased in various off-road environments. This gave the impression that the car might have a similar adventure-focused car like the current Outlander PHEV. 

The concept model also has a stylistic difference from standard Mitsubishi production cars in the way that the Mitsubishi family SUVs generally seat seven people, and the concept model can only seat six. However, the model does have three-row seating, despite having lower occupancy. It is expected that further details surrounding the Elevance concept will be revealed closer to its tying up to a production model or an independent model. 

However, the journey from concept to production may take a significant time moving forward, considering the next mid-size SUV from Mitsubishi is not expected until almost the end of this decade.
