SAUDI ARABIA: The Subaru Crosstrek received flak from users and car lovers alike for having an underwhelming driving experience powered by the 2.0-litre flat-four engine. The 2026 model has picked up on the feedback and introduced a new 2.5-litre engine across all variants, along with the introduction of a completely new full hybrid variant. The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek has significant performance advantages over its previous models. This improved engine option across all trims is expected to improve customer confidence in the model.

The launch of the new hybrid variant is also exciting for Subaru users as it is unlike regular plug-in hybrid models. The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek will feature a parallel hybrid system that’s self-charging and draws from Toyota technology, which focuses immensely on efficiency.

The 2.5-litre BOXER engine on the hybrid variants of the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek will run an Atkinson cycle. The car will feature dual motors connected to the Atkinson cycle, which will in turn be paired with a sealed lithium-ion battery. The hybrid variants will generate a total of 194 hp of power output along with AWD traction.

Currently, only the US pricing of the 2026 models has been announced, which starts from $26,995. The new Sport Hybrid variant has been priced starting around $35,415, and the Limited Hybrid variant is priced starting at $36,415.
