Chinese Manufacturer Leapmotor Teases A New iC10 Model Ahead Of German Launch

SAUDI ARABIA: Leapmotor, for those who don’t know, is a Chinese EV manufacturer. Their car, the C10, is set to launch in Germany later this year. However, ahead of the launch, Leapmotor has teased a new variant of the C10, currently known as the i C10. The i C10 will be a high-performance variant of the base model with limited availability of only 250 units that’ll be produced.

The story of how the i C10 came to be is very interesting. The brand Leapmotor has close ties to Stellantis, which is a company that’s had a long partnership with Irmscher. The i C10 is built in collaboration with Irmscher, which is an expert vehicle customisation company based in Germany.

What Are The Improvements in the i C10 Over Its Base Model?

As the car is built in collaboration with a vehicle design company, there are some nice cosmetic tweaks that this car offers over its base model. The highlights changes are mainly the presence of a fixed rear spoiler, illuminated logo on the car’s front, and red accent strips on the lower bumper of the car. The i C10 will also have large wheels with a five-spoke sporty design.

Under the hood, the i C10 will feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. This will significantly alter the performance, and this 800-volt technology will generate 585-hp, which allows the car to go from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 4 seconds. The drivetrain is not the only impressive factor in this car; it also features a fast-charging 81.9 kWh battery that can charge from 30% to 80% in just 22 minutes.

The AWD option is only available in the i C10 variant, as the base C10 models only have rear-wheel drive wherever they are available.
