Jaguar To Introduce Extremely Rare New EVs As A Part Of Its Brand Revamp In 2026
SAUDI ARABIA: Jaguar is in the process of rebranding itself after announcing their new logo and look. The brand has also decided to end production for all its model lines and completely reshape its lineup. The first car in this new lineup is expected to be an EV that is going to be more expensive and more decked out than any Jaguar car in the past.
The luxurious electric sedan, which is still a concept car, was first introduced in 2024 as the Type 00 of Jaguar’s new lineup. The design of this concept car at the moment has only two doors and two seats; however, the company has stated that the final production model will have four doors and four seats like a proper sedan. In fact, to the happiness or dismay of fans, based on where you’re placed on the new Jaguar’s branding spectrum, the company has stated that the production model will share a majority of the concept’s design.
The Head of Jaguar USA was noted saying they’re realistic about volume expectations of their new models. He stated, “This is not a huge segment, so it's not like we're going to be selling a million of these things. These will be rare—when you see one, it'll be a special occasion. Our volumes are going down, so naturally, you don't need as many retailers. Some of our retailers are choosing to voluntarily return their franchises. Because maybe their market just isn't a big EV market, or maybe they don't believe in it.”
The car brand is taking a significant change in its approach with pricing and availability of their new models, as the brand has specifically stated that they expect average transaction prices to go from $65,000 to $130,000 per car. As the cars are not market ready, it is yet to be seen whether this new strategy can help Jaguar sustain or not.
