SOUEAST: The Chinese Automaker Launches In KSA With Three New Models

SAUDI ARABIA: SOUEAST, also known as the South East Motor Co Ltd., is a Chinese automaker known for being a subsidiary of Chery. To mark their strategy shift in the Saudi market, the brand has launched three new models during their “EASE YOUR LIFE” event. 

 

The new models introduced are a part of the new S-series, with the individual models being S09, S07, and S06. The cars are built specifically for an urban audience and young drivers, with each model geared towards individuals of specific lifestyles. These new model launches are expected to be a big step towards growing SOUEAST’s presence in the region.

 

What’s New With The SOUEAST S06?

 

 

The S06 is geared towards young urban drivers who want a ride with a bold look and a modern cabin. The exterior design highlights a bold front fascia with a tiger face, rectangular grille, and slim LED headlights. The car features 20-inch alloy wheels and rear LED taillights. The taillights stretch across the back of the car, which is a cool design element for the newly announced model.

 

The S06 is available in two trims with either a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and 6-speed DCT transmission or a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with a 7-speed DCT transmission. In the car’s cabin, there’s a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

The S07 is more geared towards families as the car excels in flexible city driving, along with a comfortable and spacious cabin. The front design of the S07 is led by its ‘Starry Digital’ grille design as well as the continuous light strips. This model features a large 62-inch panoramic sunroof, which makes the cabin feel bigger and airier.

The S07 is available in two engine trims, namely a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a 7-speed DCT transmission and a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with a 7-speed DCT or 8-speed AT transmission. The interiors of the S07 feature a three-zone climate control system as well as twin 12.3-inch screens.

The SOUEAST S09 is the most high-end model in the S-series currently, with a single engine trim of a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a 7-speed DCT or an 8-speed AT transmission. The design of this car is summed up by the word ‘bold’ as it features a U-shaped illuminated grille and intelligent LED headlights.

The interiors host a 15.6-inch infotainment system with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system is run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Lastly, the interiors have automatic dual-zone climate control features.
