The Kia Cerato, also known as Kia Forte in some other global markets, is a mid-size sedan, which is based on the Korean car maker&rsquo;s J5 platform co-developed with the parent company Hyundai. The Kia Cerato was on offer in the Saudi Arabian market till 2024, until it was replaced by the all-new K4 mid-size sedan in 2025. The Cerato was available with two petrol powertrains and two variants &ndash; LX and EX, and was refreshed in 2022 with a mild facelift, giving it a few design changes and features.&nbsp;

Exterior
The facelift which Kia gave to the Cerato in 2022 made the mid-size sedan look fancier, thanks to the integration of modern lights and minor tweaks to the fascia, tail lamps and bumpers. The front profile of the Kia Cerato features a curved and sleek trapezoidal form of the traditional &lsquo;tiger nose&rsquo; grille, accompanied by sweptback and angular headlamps that incorporate LED reflector headlights and segmented LED DRLs.&nbsp;
The Kia Cerato appears quite simple from the side, boasting a good wheelbase, with the 17-inch machined alloy wheels playing a significant role in elevating the sedan&rsquo;s stance. The rear profile was also tweaked with the facelift that arrived in 2022, when the sedan received a whole new, sleeker design for the LED tail lamps. A thin strip of connected LED light bar joins the LED combination tail lamps.&nbsp;

Interior
For the Saudi Arabian market, the Kia Cerato was offered with an all-black theme as standard, with the higher variants getting leatherette upholstery and gloss black and satin silver inserts. The cabin was updated with a new trapezoidal and free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the top of the centre console. The sleeker and trapezoidal AC vents below the infotainment system and rounded dials for the automatic climate control complete the centre console of the Cerato&rsquo;s dashboard.&nbsp;
The flat-bottom, tilt and telescopic adjustable multi-functional steering wheel of the Kia Cerato has a conventional instrument console behind it, which has rounded analogue gauges for the speedometer and tachometer. However, the instrument console was updated with a new 4.2-inch TFT MID in the middle of the analogue gauges, and the corners of the dashboard got round propeller-like AC vents. The Cerato also comes decently equipped with modern features like driver seat height adjustment, push start-stop button, electronic parking brake, a sunroof, rear AC vents, a wireless charger and a few more.

The Kia Cerato was on offer in Saudi Arabia with two petrol-powered powertrain options. The first is the tried-and-tested 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and produces a maximum power output of 147 bhp and a maximum torque output of 179 Nm. Meanwhile, there is also a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which produces a maximum power output of 201 bhp and a maximum torque output of 265 Nm, while being paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.&nbsp;

Comfort and Suspension
Offering a plush ride quality is the Kia Cerato&rsquo;s soft-tuned suspension setup, comprising Macpherson struts at the front and a coupled torsion beam at the back.
