Encor Plans On Bringing Back The Iconic Lotus Esprit V8 With A Revamped Modern Setup
SAUDI ARABIA: Encor is a British brand led by highly experienced automotive experts, with each of them having over three decades of industry experience. The brand is led by a team of experts who have previously worked for Pagani, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin, Lotus, and Porsche.
They’ve worked on prestigious projects like the Lotus Advanced Performance program, the Lotus Emira, and the Q by Aston Martin customisation programs. Overall, the brand is focused on revamping classic cars for the modern generation without destroying the soul and identity of the classic cars. They’ve just announced their first project, the iconic 1970s Lotus Esprit S1.
The Encor Series 1, as this build is going to be called, is going to be developed atop a stock Lotus Esprit V8. The build will retain the iconic “backbone” chassis of the original car, which is a homage to Colin Chapman, who was the original designer of the Esprit V8. The engine and the interiors of the car are rebuilt and completely reimagined to fit today’s market standards. The fibreglass body of the Epsrit V8 is also being reimagined in a lighter and stiffer carbon fibre body.
Modern design tools like advanced CAD design are being used to optimize the aerodynamics of the car’s design. The classic pop-up headlights are also being reinterpreted as sleek, low-profile LED projectors. The interiors are being upgraded to 2025 with materials like leather, Alcantara, and machined aluminium, while retaining the wraparound cockpit style. Tech integrations are included in the cabin now, including Apple CarPlay, 360-degree cameras, and digital climate control.
As a custom build, the company has stated that it will have a limited production run of just 50 units. The company has shared two teaser images on Instagram so far, and the official debut is scheduled for November 2025.
