Lamborghini Hints at Possible Off-Road Versions Of Temerario And Revuelto

SAUDI ARABIA: The head of sales and marketing at Lamborghini, Mr. Federico Foschini, told Autocar, “We are always looking for crazy things in all dimensions.” This statement is supported by Lamborghini’s future plans that possibly include Revuelto derivatives, such as an off-road version based off the Sterrato. The Urus, which is Lamborghini’s SUV, has already received an off-road makeover with rugged ST-X additions. However, the car is yet to reach production. Considering the current lineup of Lamborghini, the Urus seems like the most logical candidate for an off-road makeover released as a special edition.

Lamborghini Urus

Lamborghini is currently running on the heels of a strong year financially, with more than 10,687 cars delivered in 2024. The strong demand for Lamborghinis in the last few years has allowed the company to be more experimental. Models like the Huracan Sterrato are a testament to the company’s focus on niche models. Among the interesting projects that are yet to come at Lamborghini, a follow-up based on the Temerario is also almost confirmed.

Lamborghini Urus Side Profile

Foschini also noted that after the success of niche models like the Sterrato, Lamborghini intends to build on its success. When asked about derivatives of existing models, Foschini said, “The sky is the limit.” While the all-terrain Urus isn’t confirmed or announced yet, what is announced, however, is that the second-generation Urus will continue to have ICE power. The car will also have a plug-in hybrid setup rather than going fully electric.

Hybrid models may not feel exciting for brands like Lamborghini; however, considering they’re low-volume automakers, hybrids are the only way for these companies to offset their carbon emissions from the larger ICE engine-focused cars. In the era of tightening regulations globally, hybrid cars have become a necessary evil for automakers. However, considering the track record of Lamborghini, it will be exciting to see what they will bring to the table with their hybrids.
