Hyundai Reveals Concept Car Crater Which May Rival Toyota’s Prado
SAUDI ARABIA: The Crater concept from Hyundai has been revealed recently, and industry insiders and fans alike think that this may be a hint at the next Hyundai Tucson that rivals the Toyota Prado. The concept was revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show, and it is said to be based on a “compact monocoque architecture” rather than a ladder-frame chassis. The concept also has proportions reminiscent of the Ioniq 5 electric SUV. However, the Crater concept is wider and features off-road tyres.
All You Must Know About The Hyundai Crater Concept

The Crater concept is smaller than imagined compared to a typical large off-road SUV. It showcases Hyundai’s new Art of Steel design language, which features sharp creases, flared wheel arches, and pixelated LED front and rear lights. The concept features 18-inch wheels with 33-inch off-road tyres that are fitted on large skid plates. The car also features cables stretching from the roof to the bonnet for added protection and a roof rack.

The car has interesting utility features, such as the red recovery hook serves as a bottle opener, and the side-mirror cameras also double as flashlights. These features improve the car’s practicality and ensure the car gets a wider use case. Adding to the interesting features, inside the cabin, the steering wheel features Pixel LEDs, which are used to convey information about driving modes.
The concept car does not delve into its powertrain details. However, certain features were listed with the launch, such as hill-descent control, front and rear locking differentials, and off-road drive modes, to name a few.
