MG S6 EV Revealed: New EV Shows Promising Performance, Set To Rival Tesla Model Y

SAUDI ARABIA: MG Motors has just revealed the brand new S6 EV, and it is going to be a tough competitor in the C-segment SUV market, competing directly against the BYD Sealion 7 and the Tesla Model Y. The MG S6 EV is built on the Modular Scalable Platform of MG, which is widely acclaimed. The S6 is going to be placed above the MG S5 in its lineup. The MG S6 will be available in three variants, as per information, namely the SE Long Range, Trophy Long Range, and the Trophy Dual Motor variant.

MG S6 EV Performance Highlights

The Long Range and the Trophy Long Range variant of the MG S6 will be powered by a single rear-wheel drive motor. These variants will not have AWD. The single motor will power the MG S6 from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds, which is still impressive for a single motor setup. The top variant (Trophy Dual Motor) comes with a dual motor setup, which gives the car AWD and a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration time of just 5.1 seconds.

The car will also have two battery options with a 62.2 kWh lithium-ion battery for the SE variant and a 77 kWh battery for the Trophy variants. The range of the Trophy Long Range variant is the highest, with a 529 km range. All variants of the MG S6 will have fast charging capability with a 10 to 80% charge in just 38 minutes.

MG S6 EV Cabin Tech Highlights

The cabin of the MG S6 EV features a twin-screen layout that has a 12.8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch Driver Display. The cabin will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also feature an 11-speaker audio system with a fixed panoramic sunroof with electric blinds. Lastly, as a new model, the cabin will support MG’s iSMART mobile app connectivity.
