SAUDI ARABIA: Infiniti has recently shared details of its new QX80 R-Spec concept model. It is a bold reinvention of their flagship SUV, and it hints at the brand’s future design language and performance focus. While the QX80 is known for being a quiet, family-friendly SUV, the current concept model reveal tells a completely different story. 

The R-Spec aspect of the concept shows its commitment to performance, and it is signified by the Nissan GT-R’s 3.8-litre twin turbocharged V engine that sits at the heart of the car. It delivers a whopping 1000 hp, making the concept among the most powerful SUVs in the world.

Infiniti QX80 R-Spec: Design Highlights

The Infiniti QX80 R-Spec has significant design upgrades from its previous self, led by a wider stance and a lower ground clearance, creating an aggressive design that goes beyond just elegance. The front grille design is also aggressive and adds a lot to the car’s road presence. The sharp lines across the car’s body create a sense of movement and motion in the design, even when the car is standing still. Lastly, the colour-shifting Midnight Purple paint is a beautiful addition to the concept as it changes tone under different lighting. In fact, the paint job is a home to the GT-R’s T-Spec heritage.

Infiniti QX80 R-Spec: Performance Highlights

The engine and performance are at the core of this concept, and it is powered by the legendary VR38DETT engine from the Nissan GT-R. The engine has still been heavily modified with a Garrett G-Series turbocharger, twin intercoolers, and a reinforced fuel system. The performance figures have not been released yet, but it is safe to say that with an output of 1000 hp, this car will not have a problem racking up impressive performance metrics.
