Jensen Rises Again With A New V8 Sports Car

SAUDI ARABIA: If you’re wondering what Jensen is, you’re not alone. Jensen was a popular British automaker that was active between 1935 and 1976. The brand was fairly popular for its high-performance grand tourer cars. Now, the brand is back with a high-performance, ultra-luxury GT car. The brand faced financial struggles and went bankrupt. Since going out of business, there have been several attempts to revive the brand, but none of them worked. Now, Jensen is coming back again in a fairly new segment with the goal of rivaling the likes of Aston Martin. Their new lineup is expected to debut in late 2026.

Jensen Reboot

The reborn company is now called Jensen International Automotive (JIA). For its first car, the brand has taken inspiration from the 1960s Interceptor, which was iconic. The company aims to bring back the thrill and emotional connection of driver and car through an analogue driving feel. However, as a modern touch, they will be adding features and comfort that are expected from a modern luxury automaker.

Jensen is designing the new model from scratch with a clean-sheet design. The car will be developed on a bespoke aluminium platform, and it will be wrapped in a sleek body design. Under the hood, the car will have a V8 engine, which is something that has drawn the attention of fans on the internet. 

David Duerden, the Managing Director of JIA summed up their return by saying, “Our first in-house vehicle takes the idea of the British luxury GT and brings it firmly into the modern era. It’s been designed and engineered from the ground up to deliver a truly special V8-powered driving experience. While it nods to the Interceptor introduced 60 years ago, this isn’t a restomod or a continuation car. It’s a completely new model that stands on its own.”
