SAUDI ARABIA: Late last year, Kia introduced a radically designed concept car known as the Vision Meta Turismo Concept. Now, the brand has announced that they’re considering making a production model for the concept, given if there’s positive customer feedback. As per industry insiders, the Vision Meta Concept, if it gets to production will find its place somewhere between the EV6 and the EV9 of the Kia lineup. This is because the brand is trying to move away from traditional SUVs and crossovers for its next generation EVs. The design of the Vision Meta Concept fits right into that idea. So, even though it is rumoured to be placed between the EV6 and EV9, the car will most probably a part of Kia’s next-generation EVs.

Kia EV Line-up is Now ‘Complete’

As it stands right now with six models under its belt, the brand has subtly announced that Kia’s current generation EV lineup is now complete. The brand is going to move forward working on next-generation models. The current generation of Kia EVs include the EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, and EV9. 

When asked about the design of the new generation Kia EVs, Oliver Samson, the Europe design chief of Kia, said “We’re always looking for something new, so every time we start a project, we don’t say ‘Okay, the car should look like something we’ve done before. If we find something new, progressive and fitting for Kia, we’d consider adding it to the family.”

Customer’s Role in The EV’s Production

When asked about whether the brand is considering a direct production push for the Vision Meta Concept, Samson said, “We’re really looking into having a dialogue with our consumers to make sure that we are not designing something completely off. We’re looking for their reaction: is that in line with what you expect from Kia?”
