2026 Toyota Hilux Revealed With Updated Tech And Design
SAUDI ARABIA: The HiLux ute has finally come out from under the covers on 10 November 2025. The information was previously shared by both the Toyota Thailand division and the Toyota Europe division, and it wasn’t rumours, it was a proper announcement. The car has been teased by both the Toyota divisions on their social media platforms with a video teasing the car.

The video shows off the slimmer LED headlights of the 2026 Toyota HiLux and also some revised taillights. The wheel designs have also been upgraded, and the car has added a retro-style ‘TOYOTA’ script. The car has received some cosmetic upgrades, and the overall design remains, all in all, similar to that of the current generation HiLux available in Australia.

As per information available from government documents filed by Toyota, the HiLux, which is codenamed AN2 in the documents, could ditch its 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The future of the 2.4-litre diesel variant of the HiLux is currently unclear, and it will only be revealed at the launch whether the diesel variant is being offered anymore or not.
While the future of the diesel variant as it was present may be uncertain, there are rumours that a new 2.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel may become widespread across the 2026 HiLux range. Inside the cabin, images show that the HiLux dashboard may look like that of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV. This means that the HiLux is getting a new interior design and will probably feature a larger infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument cluster.
Another interesting rumour to think about is that the next-generation HiLux may feature a fully electric variant, as it was subtly teased at the Tokyo Motor Show. The best part about all of this new information is that there’s little need for speculation anymore, as the official reveal has already happened on 10 November 2025.
