Renault Brings Back Retro-Chic City Car As An EV for The Masses
SAUDI ARABIA: The Renault Twingo is making a return in 2026, and it becomes the third retro-modern Renault to be unveiled in the last few years. The first model was the 5 E-Tech Electric, which was an excellent throwback to its original model. Then came the 4 E-Tec Electric, which was a lot more in line with the Utilitarian 4 from Renault. And now the Renault Twingo is coming back with a modern twist in 2026.

The Twingo was a beloved model that was only discontinued last year, and even though the nameplate is being revived, it will now be a completely different car and will be sold as a fully electric car for the first time. The design of the new Twingo was developed in just two years, and the car was inspired by the first-generation Twingo that sold from 1992 to 2012 unchanged. The new car’s design has elements inspired by its predecessor, such as the round headlights and the horizontal grille slats. However, unlike the first-generation Twingo, the new EV won’t have a two-door design. Instead, it’ll also have rear doors.

The most standout feature of the new EV’s design is the cheerful and playful design of the car that has more personality than a lot of other higher-priced cars on the road. The dimensions of the car are going to be very compact, especially compared to today’s standards, with a length of 3,789 mm, a width of 1,720 mm, and a height of 1,491 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,493 mm. Even for a small car like this, Renault is offering great ground clearance with 18-inch wheels and an option for standard 16-inch ones.
