Bentley Shares New Teaser For Its Continental GT Supersports & The Details Are Exciting
SAUDI ARABIA: Bentley has shared a teaser for their new Continental GT Supersports on Instagram, and there’s new information that supports that the car will be lighter than ever before and also come with rear-wheel drive. In fact, there’s some rumour that Bentley may ditch the hybrid system of the car altogether for this new model.

It was announced that Bentley was working on a Continental Supersports with the regular Continental GT’s hybrid powertrain and AWD system removed. Since then, a new teaser has been released by Bentley, which confirms that Bentley is indeed working on a Continental with a 640 hp V8 engine. However, rather than an AWD system, this car is reportedly getting a rear-wheel drive.

Bentley has used the Supersports nameplate twice in the past for older Continental GT variants. Both those times, the Supersports was the top-of-the-line model with higher power engine options and mostly it was the Supersports models that featured Bentley’s now obsolete W-12 engine. Since the W-12 engines are no more, it has been reported that the new Supersports that’s currently in the making will feature a V-8 engine.
The current model may be quite a change from the current lineup of Bentley, as every Continental GT currently in the lineup uses a V-8 engine with a hybrid system. The company has been teasing this model for some time now and slowly releasing details. The brand has also released a statement describing what their new performance cars will look like.
“One-hundred years after the birth of the first Bentley ‘Super Sports’, the nameplate returns to Bentley for only the fourth Supersports model in history. The new Bentley Supersports will be the lightest, most driver-focused and first rear-wheel drive Continental GT ever. Like the original, the new Supersports will be rare, with a limited production run.”
