SAUDI ARABIA: BYD, the EV giants from China, have been sharing cryptic teasers since the beginning of September on social media. All the hype has resulted in the final announcement, which is the first international debut of the BYD SEAL 6 EV in Malaysia on 26 September 2025. The global debut of the upcoming SEAL 6 is big news coming from BYD. The latest announcement that has confirmed the launch of the SEAL 6 in Malaysia comes as a teaser, where the side profile of the car is showcased, hinting that it is a rebadged version of the Qin L EV.

The Qin L EV from BYD is a mid-size sedan-style EV that rivals models like the Tesla Model 3. BYD has built this car on the same BYD e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform that’s available on the Sealion 7. The Seal 6 is going to be the global version of the Qin L EV that’s available in China. 

BYD Qin L EV: Highlights & Specifications

The Qin L EV was launched in the Chinese market to great success, as the car received over 10,000 orders in the first week of launch. It is a mid-size sedan with dimensions measuring 4720 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. Compared to the regular Seal models, this car is 80 mm shorter, 5 mm wider, and 35 mm taller. However, the wheelbase is 100 mm shorter.

The Qin L EV is offered with two engine options, both with rear-wheel drivetrains. The base variant has a maximum power output of 150 PS, and the top variant has a maximum power output of 218 PS. The electric range also differs between the base variant and the top variant, with each having a claimed range of 470 km and 545 km, respectively.

Lastly, the interiors are powered by BYD’s DiLink 100 smart cockpit system that has DeepSeek integrated into the cabin for AI assistance.
