Chinese Great Wall Motor’s Luxury Wing Unveils New XL-Sized Premium SUV
SAUDI ARABIA: GWM has recently introduced its own high-end luxury SUV in the Chinese domestic market. The biggest feature of the SUV is its size, which stands at over 5.2 meters in length. The XL SUV market is rapidly growing in China, and as a result, the GWM model now adds to the competition in this space. The model was introduced specifically by GWM’s luxury wing, known as Wey. The new model is called the Wey V9X.

The measurements of the new model include a length of 5,299 mm and a wheelbase of 3,150 mm. The dimensions are impressive to say the least because the length of over 5,200 mm is larger than many of the premium and luxury SUVs offered by premier automakers worldwide. The Vey V9X is also the first GWM model to be built on the brand’s new One platform. It boasts a flexible and modular chassis system that’s designed to support all EVs, PHEVs, and ICE models.
Vey V9X: What We Know So Far?

The Vey V9X is expected to be an EV. The model will feature ‘6C’ charging capability, which states that the battery will be able to charge at a rate six times that of the battery capacity. In practice, this means that the battery will be able to add up to 200 km of range with just 5 minutes of charging on a compatible charger. The car is also expected to get a rooftop LiDAR sensor, which indicates the presence of ADAS features.
Inside the cabin, the car will get a 2+2+2 seating layout with adequate captain’s chairs in the second row. The cabin will also get a full-length glass roof, which adds to the luxury of the cabin. While there’s no clear indication regarding out of China availability for this model as of yet, it is important to note that the V9X may find its way into the Middle East market in the future.
