Honda Reveals Near-Production 2026 Prelude Model At The Goodwood Festival Of Speed
SAUDI ARABIA: This is the second pre-launch reveal of the 2026 Prelude model at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. Previously, the car was introduced at this same event in 2024. One stark difference between 2024 and this year for Honda has been that the car is no longer a concept, and is near-production as mentioned by the manufacturer.
Visitors were allowed to open the car doors and even sit inside the finished cabin of the 2026 Prelude, which was not allowed in 2024. The car also drove up the hill at the festival, with Honda officially taking a walkaround video of the boost blue pearl car that went up the hill.
What’s New With the 2026 Honda Prelude
The exterior design of the 2026 Honda Prelude feels like a continuation of the Civic Coupe with a similar focus on practicality and a three-door liftback design. The interior space can be cramped for tall passengers and drivers; however, that’s the cost of having a sloping roofline and a sleek coupe design.
Honda has been quite tight-lipped regarding the specs of the car, with both what’s under the hood and performance figures. However, the interiors were showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which somewhat resembles the likes of other Honda models like the Civic and Integra. So, if you’re a Honda fan, the interiors should not feel out of place for you.
The sixth-generation 2026 Prelude is expected to be an automatic-only car with Honda offering a special “S+” button that enables “sharper simulated shifts.” It is offered to mimic an eight-speed gearbox via paddle shifters. To make the experience even better, the S+ button is also expected to artificially amplify the engine noise to make the driving experience better.
Lastly, the 2026 Prelude is also expected to have a 10% lighter body compared to the Honda Civic, along with a shorter wheelbase, and stiffer suspension setup.
When Will The 2026 Honda Prelude Be Officially Launched For Sale?
There’s still no official information regarding launch dates, but it is expected that the new 2026 Prelude will be officially available in the US from late 2025 with Europe and Middle East arrivals expected in 2026.
