Jeep Reveals The New EV 2026 Recon With A Strong 650 HP Power Output
SAUDI ARABIA: The EV Jeep Recon was one of those cars that created significant buzz on announcement, but it fizzled over time since the launch was far away. Well, the wait is over now as Jeep have now officially revealed their 2026 Recon EV, which was first announced in 2022. The production is expected to start in early 2026 and the car will launch in its Moab trim first.

In terms of performance, the Jeep Recon doesn’t let you feel the absence of an IC engine with a whopping 650 hp maximum power output from two electric motors. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds, making you question whether you’re getting an SUV or a hypercar. The two electric motors are tied to the front and rear wheels respectively, allowing the car to get complete four-wheel drive and it also comes with the coveted Trail Rated badge.

In terms of dimensions, the closest comparison to the new Recon is a four-door Jeep Wrangler and the Recon is five inches longer than the Recon, even though the wheelbase is six-inch shorter. The Moab trim of the Jeep Recon will have 33-inch tyres that provide a ground clearance of over 9-inch ground clearance with a 33.8-degree approach and a 33.1-departure angle. Jeep has stated that the Recon is calibrated to , “deliver torque in a controlled and precise manner for a satisfying off-road driving experience.”
The Recon has been built on the STLA Large platform that also powers the Dodge Charger Daytona EV and the Jeep Wagoneer S models. The overall 100.5 kW battery pack provides a healthy range of up to 400 km and a top speed of around 180 kmph.
