Mercedes-Benz Reveals The Vision Iconic Concept At The Shanghai Auto Show
SAUDI ARABIA: Mercedes-Benz doesn’t shy from acknowledging its greatness, and calling its new concept model Vision Iconic is just more proof of that. Well, for most brands, this name would make people scoff, but not for Mercedes, because the concept model is actually stunning and iconic in true Mercedes fashion. The amalgamation of tradition and innovation in this concept model is really well executed, and luxury remains tactile as the car dons a completely digital and futuristic design.
The design of this car is dramatic to say the least and has serious goth vibes from the old and new design amalgamation. The front grille has people talking, and rightly so, because the illuminated grille demands strong opinions of people, either loving or hating it. Mercedes has recognised its most identifiable design elements and retained them for EVs as well, and that’s a commendable choice.
Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Design Highlights
The illuminated grille certainly steals the show, but there’s much more to the design of this concept. The exterior has a lattice lighting pattern with animated effects. The ultra-slim headlights featuring a star motif again are iconic. The chrome accents along the windows and lower door edges really add a lot to the design, and the clean rear design with slim LED taillights complements the car perfectly.
Inside the cabin, there’s a completely different story with deep blue velvet upholstery. One of the most noteworthy aspects in the cabin is the floating glass dashboard, known as the “Zeppelin” panel. The interiors also feature brass trim and polished fittings.
Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Technology
The concept has not shared any information regarding the motor setup or batteries featured in this model; however, from all the available information, it can be safely assumed that this car will be a complete EV. Some of the befuddling technology aspects of this concept are that it is painted with a nanoparticle-based solar paint that can add up to 12,000 km of driving range per year in ideal sunlight.
