Subaru Teases New STI Concepts Featuring Both ICE & EV Options Ahead Of The Japan Mobility Show
SAUDI ARABIA: Japanese automakers have been making headlines regularly for the last few days as the 2025 Japan Mobility Show approaches. Among the brands that have announced new models, Subaru is the latest addition with a teaser for STI-branded show cars. The brand only shared shadowy pictures of two cars, but upon further inspection of the pictures, here’s all that was revealed.
The two cars revealed are vastly different as they have different designs and powertrains. One of the cars is an EV with a fastback silhouette, and the other one is a performance-B STI concept with an ICE engine that resembles the look of a GR Corolla. The ICE variant has a noticeably larger roof spoiler than the GR Corolla, which adds a lot of sportiness and drama to the car’s design. The EV, on the other hand, is a Performance-E STI concept that features slim headlights, a narrow hood, and a sharper front bumper as the design.
The ICE variant that has been teased is not the first time the car has been revealed. Earlier in June 2025, the car was previewed with bulging fenders, a WRX-based hatch design, and vents on either side of the hood scoop. Subaru has informed that the ICE model will feature a symmetrical all-wheel drive system, but other details remain unknown.
Lastly, both concepts feature red accents and familiar Subaru Tecnica International (STI) badging. These two concepts will possibly share the stage at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show; however, whether these models go into production or not is yet to be seen. Subaru’s lineup at the Japan Mobility Show will feature the Trailseeker, Forester Wilderness, Outback Wilderness, and the 1983 GL Family Huckster.
