Mercedes Launches New Backlit And Pixelated Grille Designs To Help Its EVs Stand Out
SAUDI ARABIA: The Mercedes GLC Series, which has recently gotten an EV upgrade, is going to feature a digitally animated backlit pixel dot front grille design. This is a proper design refresh for the brand and introduces a new design language that has upgraded the known and loved chrome grille design that Mercedes is known for.
The new pixelated grille design pulls direct inspiration from Mercedes’ own models like W 108 and 600 Pullman. The new design still has a chrome frame, but it is filled with 942 animated backlit pixel dots, which, as per the company, brings “the electric GLC to life.”
When asked about their new design idea, the chief design officer, Gorden Wagener, said, “Our new iconic grille is not just a new front for the GLC, it redefines the face of our brand. It is the perfect fusion of lasting design codes reinterpreted for the future, making our cars instantly recognizable.”
What’s New With The Mercedes GLC EV?
The new Mercedes design language, known as “Sensual Purity,” will roll out its next phase with the GLC EV model. However, the brand has not shared any information on what else the rollout will comprise.
The GLC EV is also set to receive an MBUX Hyperscreen inside the cabin, along with the brand-new MB.OS software. This OS system is expected to be rolled out to upcoming Mercedes models as well. The operating system will feature an AI assistant along with a three-dimensional gaming engine.
