SAUDI ARABIA: The wait is finally over, the 2027 Kia Seltos has been launched, and it is still affordable with a quality build and performance, allowing it to retain its position as one of the best value-for-money vehicles in its segment. We had covered the teaser launch of the Seltos a few days back, and now that it's out, it is visible that Kia has done a brilliant job with this model. 

The 2027 Kia Seltos will ride on Kia’s K3 platform, which already underpins models like the Niro and even Hyundai’s Kona. The new Seltos is also larger, measuring around three inches longer than the outgoing model. The new model also gets a larger wheelbase and width.

2027 Kia Seltos: Engine & Performance

The 2027 Kia Seltos will feature two engine options: a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder and a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre option. The second-generation crossover will have a maximum power output of 190 hp and 147 hp, respectively. 

This shows that the cars have admirable daily performance, even if the performance figures do not turn heads immediately. The turbo-engine variant is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission like the outgoing model. Additionally, the 2027 Seltos gets all-wheel drive as an optional paid upgrade.

Even with the reveal of the 2027 Seltos, there’s no lack of things to look forward to for the nameplate, as Kia has shared plans to introduce a hybrid variant for the Seltos. Currently, the details are scarce, but it might borrow a powertrain from the Niro Hybrid.

2027 Kia Seltos: Interiors & Cabin Tech

The interiors get a major revamp with the 2027 Kia Seltos, as it features dual 12.3-inch displays on the dashboard. While the physical buttons for climate control have been retained, the design feels reminiscent of the 2027 Telluride.
