The Rumours Were True: Hyundai Staria Electric Revealed As Hyundai’s Largest EV Yet
SAUDI ARABIA: When Hyundai teased that its new EV would be its biggest yet, we, along with most industry insiders and half of the internet, suspected it would be the Staria electric, and lo and behold, the rumours were true. The newly unveiled Staria Electric is going to have a range of up to 400 km with 800-volt fast charging. This makes the car a good option for city driving and even long journeys, thanks to the fast charging capabilities. The model will directly compete with the Kia PV5 and the Ford E-Tourneo Custom. The car was unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show 2026.

Under the hood, the Staria Electric uses the same powertrain/architecture as the ICE variant. So, the EV still borrows its platform from the Santa Fe SUV. The EV MPV will get a single front-mounted motor that outputs 219 hp of power. The fast charging capability of the Staria EV allows charging from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The battery pack for the Staria EV is an 84kWh lithium-ion battery. The Staria EV will have a top speed of 183 kmph and a towing capacity of up to 2,000 kgs. However, towing may affect battery range.
Hyundai Staria Electric: Design Highlights
In terms of design, the Staria Electric looks quite similar to the ICE model with minor upgrades to the front fascia and a redesigned bumper. Apart from that, iconic design elements like the sliding doors and wraparound LED light bars remain intact with the other variant. In terms of dimensions, the Staria Electric is 5,255mm in length and 1,990mm in height with a 2,375mm wheelbase.

Inside the cabin, the Staria Electric gets Hyundai’s ‘Connected Car Navigation Cockpit’ with dual 12.3-inch screens. The car will also receive OTA updates in the future. The Electric Staria gets a new steering wheel and a more horizontal dashboard design with a rectangular centre console. Also, physical buttons rule the Staria Electric dashboard, which would be loved by users.
