Bentley Continental GT Supersports Has Been Officially Revealed As A Non-Hybrid Model
SAUDI ARABIA: There was significant buzz surrounding the Bentley Continental GT Supersports launch, and the car has finally launched as per the specifications previously announced. The GT Supersports is an ICE car with a maximum power output of 657 hp, and the power goes directly to the rear wheels.

The current Supersports model ensures that the nameplate is active even after 100 years since its first debut in the 1920s. The current Supersports is based on the Continental GT, and the lightweight model is certainly a beast when it comes to on-road performance. The car can hit 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of up to 308 kmph.
One of the standout features of the Continental GT Supersports is that it is not a hybrid model. In fact, it is currently the only non-hybrid Continental GT in the Bentley lineup. Now, that may not be a great thing as is, but what it helps is that it makes the car lighter. And a lighter car, especially a performance-focused car like the Continental GT Supersports, can do a lot better if it can drop some kilos.

To put it into perspective, the current Continental GT Supersports weighs around 2,000 kg. The next model in terms of weight is the GT Speed variant, which weighs over 1,000 kg more than the Continental GT Supersports. That’s the reason Bentley has touted this model to be the lightest Continental GT to date.
The lower weight is not just caused by the dropping of an EV battery that makes the other cars hybrids, the weight loss also comes from the use of carbon fibre across the car’s exterior design. From valances, skirts, wheels, and wings, all of these elements have been replaced with carbon fibre parts to reduce the weight of the car further.
