Porsche 911 Turbo S Is Here With Its Hypercar Pace & Hybrid Powertrain

SAUDI ARABIA: When you think about super or hyper cars, you don’t think of them as the cars you use for commuting. That’s where Porsche really stands out because the 911 has always been a car that can do just about anything while outperforming any other car on the road. The 2026 911 Turbo S carries the weight of its legacy very well with performance that rivals Bugatti cars and design that makes this iconic title even more iconic.

What’s New With Porsche’s 911 Turbo S Hybrid Powertrain?

 Porsche 911 Turbo S

Porsche has adapted its T-Hybrid architecture, first seen in the Carrera GTS, for the Turbo S. The system is compact and doesn’t bog down the car with heavy weights. It is powered by a 1.9 kWh 400-volt lithium-ion battery that’s placed inside the car’s trunk. The motor that powers the car sits between the flat-six engine and the PDK transmission to offer the new Porsche 911 Turbo S a quick boost, much like a turbo.

Another commendable aspect of the Porsche 911 Turbo S’s hybrid powertrain is that it doesn’t rely on a single motor. In fact, the system is connected to two electrically assisted turbochargers. These turbos offer a quick, instantaneous boost while driving and even act as braking devices, delivering the regenerative braking powers back to the battery.

Porsche 911 Turbo S Hybrid: Engine & Performance

The car’s total power output is a staggering 701 hp. This is almost 61 hp over the outgoing Turbo S. The car’s 0 to 60 mph or 96.56 kmph speed is just under 2.5 seconds (2.4 seconds for the new Turbo S). The car is also an all-wheel drive as standard. The performance of the new model at Nürburgring is around 14 seconds quicker than Porsche’s outgoing model, which is a significant improvement over its predecessor.
