The 2026 Nissan Z NISMO Gets an Enthusiast-Requested Feature - A Manual Gearbox
SAUDI ARABIA: The 2026 Nissan Z NISMO is finally getting a manual transmission, and the fans are ecstatic. As a performance car, the Z NISMO was always focused on taking performance to the next level. However, the car generally never came with a manual transmission before, until now. The 2026 Z NISMO is set to get a six-speed manual transmission along with some minor upgrades to the car’s aerodynamics package.

The interiors also remain largely unchanged, with the known and loved two-tone design that’s available in the automatic version. The puck-style gear selector is going away in the MT model with a Z’s manual gaiter and leather-wrapped gear knob. The new model will also not feature the Nissan branding; instead, it will have the Z insignia on the front bumper.

The performance details of how the car is changing are not yet available. However, the manual is expected to be powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 that already powers the automatic variant. The Z NISMO will be showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 alongside various other cars from Nissan. Among notable entries are a NISMO Concept Model, which appears to be inspired by or derived from the Japanese hatchback Note. The concept will, however, get its wild NISMO makeover before being showcased at the event.
The brand is also planning to showcase the Leaf electric crossover, which is one of the popular EVs from Nissan at the event, but with an Autech styling package. The design changes will include a front bumper lip, an extended side sill, new multi-spoke alloy wheels, and a bumper insert with additional LED running lights.
